Thrivent plans 50 hires to beef up IT department ahead of retirements - Minneapolis / St. Paul Business Journal

Thrivent Financial is expanding its IT staff in preparation for a wave of retirements.

The Minneapolis-based financial institution expects to hire about 50 people this year, increasing the size of its 650-employee IT department by about 7 percent.

Paul Mueller, vice president and chief information officer for Thrivent, expects about half the new workers will be based at its Twin Cities offices, with the remainder at its operations in Appleton, Wis.

Thrivent is primarily recruiting for entry-level jobs, but also has mid-level positions open, he said. One of the company’s goals is to ensure young workers can gain expertise from veteran employees before they retire, Mueller said.

“There’s a lot to learn and that doesn’t happen over night," he said. "This is a conscious effort to start building the talent and experience and transferring the knowledge before it’s too late.”

Curious about how to get started with Coin Mining? I was too.

I have been exploring crypto currency for a few months now and though I have determined it to be a miniscule if anything money maker, it is certainly interesting.

I started out by using my fairly robust video card's processor to hash generate solutions that eventually add up to varying amounts of COIN. There are at least a hundred that I know of. They are of the variety of SCRYPT.

Bitcoin and its ilk need different kind of hardware to hash solutions out of. The coins in this group are of the variety known as SHA256.

I have successfully mined both varieties using home computer equipment and recently have experimented with buying hardware hashability via the "CLOUD". I have made many pennies so far. :)

Anyway, If you are looking to get into this cool hobby and have a specific question, I might be able to help. Just post your question in the comments below.

I also use Cryptsy to hold all my various coin wallets. If you would like to explore that, go HERE

I use CEX.IO for my cloud based hashing. If you would like to explore that go HERE

My current dashboard. All in all about $80 USD has gotten me this. More info HERE

And some interviewers use this to their advantage by asking questions that are illegal. Some questions are prohibited by various laws in our Constitution but that does not stop them from being asked and ANSWERED. We’ve all been asked questions that are inappropriate, nosy or just down right illegal. Very seldom do we call it out because we want the job, right?
