Database Administrator-Woodbury, MN

The primary responsibility of the DBA will be to provide database administration and database support. Additional responsibilities include assisting in the administration of other Oracle products and data reporting. The DBA will also be responsible for supporting both production and development environments ranging from small scale to large scale systems.

Excellent business analysis and project management skills are required. The DBA will support all functional areas of the company and database related system(s). The DBA is expected to address more complex business processes and provide innovative solutions for the business departments. The DBA should be able to independently resolve issues, proactively communicate and manage projects with little supervision.

Oracle Database Server Administration

o Working and practical knowledge of Oracle Database 10g/11g

o Working and practical knowledge of database structures and design

o Strong SQL knowledge

o Strong PL/SQL knowledge

o Working and practical knowledge of database backups

o Enhancing and implementing Database design standards and procedures

o Install, configure, and maintain complex database software system components and services

o Ability to evaluate the applicability of new database technology developments.

o Monitor and address system performance, database integrity and audit issues.

o Working and practical knowledge of cloning database systems and transporting data between different systems.

o Working and practical knowledge of patch analysis and installation.

Data Analysis and Business Skills

o Manage medium to large projects and participate in a variety of projects through the entire project lifecycle

o Document and follow standards, policies and procedures pertaining to change management and database systems.

o Ability to translate business needs into technical terms and translate technical information back into business terms, with both management and coworkers

o Working and practical knowledge writing database driven reports

Additional Beneficial Skills and Abilities

o Knowledge of Linux administration

o Knowledge writing database driven reports

o Knowledge of proper documentation practices

o Experience with Oracle Discover

o Experience with Oracle e-Business suite.

o Experience in managing the internal and external database security

o Experience with the deployment of security protocols that include application of security patches.

o Experience with the setup and maintenance of data warehouses including extract, translate, load(ETL) jobs
