Job Description - Fleet Technician in Charge-21925


We are looking for an experienced Fleet Mechanic to join the Xcel Energy team in Amery, Wisconsin!

In this position you will be responsible for the hands on repair, service and preventive maintenance on a wide range of Xcel Energy vehicles, including fleet cars, trucks and equipment. The ability to inspect, service, repair, diagnosis and properly make minor and major repairs to electrical, hydraulic, gasoline, and diesel systems is a must. Work will be done at shop facilities and also at job sites in the field working from a mobile truck. This position will work a Monday through Friday schedule, normally from 10am to 6pm. May be required to work overtime and after-hours call out, including nights and weekends. Position will also require travel throughout company territory.

Qualified applicants will have a High School Diploma or GED and meet the following criteria:
An accredited Journeyman Mechanic with a minimum of five years verifiable experience in the automotive, truck and/or hydraulic maintenance field. Maintenance experience on medium and heavy duty trucks and/or aerial equipment is strongly preferred.
Must meet driver qualification requirements as specified in FMCSR Parts 382 and 391 including the possession of a valid Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class A.

Two year technical, vocational or trade school diploma or degree in the automotive, truck, and/or heavy equipment field is strongly preferred.
Will be required to furnish your own standard and metric tools.
Experience doing mobile repair is desired.

Special Requirements:
Must have the ability to lift 50 or more pounds routinely.
Successful applicant must live within a 20 mile radius of the Amery Service Center. Relocation of the employee's household is required within 6 months and will be the employee's responsibility.
Must be highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent written and verbal communications.
Must have demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
A high awareness of safety and compliance with company safety rules is required at all times.
Must maintain a high level of quality customer service.
